About

Mission

To provide a quiet retreat in the woods where adults, families, ministries, couples, and corporations can retreat from the demands of life and connect with friends, family and God.

Vision

The Hiding Place’s byline is: “It’s all about relationships.”  Our vision is to provide a wooded retreat setting that is quiet, peaceful, comfortable, secluded, and clean with private guest rooms, away from the pressures of life.  We desire for people to connect on a deeper, heart level with each other and with God.

Values

We value intimate gatherings and relationship-building. In the dining area we have a large, oval table that seats 12, fostering conversation while sharing a meal. Around the huge, stone fireplace in the great room, there is room for 12 or more to gather. Also in the great room, there are seating areas where 2-4 can meet to talk more personally, and a table for board games and puzzles. Upstairs, there’s a cozy room for smaller meetings. We only allow a maximum of 24 people (12 couples) or 18 adults in order to keep the intimate setting. For this reason, we don’t allow sleeping on the couches or sleeping bags in the basement. We also value privacy, and provided each bedroom with it’s own full bathroom. We value God’s creation, and love that the 73 acres and country roads allow time to walk and experience one another while seeing God in nature (Psalm 19).  Above all else, we highly esteem the Word of God and encourage groups to draw from it.

Faith Beliefs

The Hiding Place is a Christ-centered, Bible-based ministry that encourages deeper fellowship with each other and deeper intimacy with our Creator. We believe men, women, couples, families, ministries, and even corporations can and should take time to retreat from the stress of daily life to refocus and remember the things of Kingdom importance. Jesus came to bring and restore abundant life in all areas, including where we live, work and play. Thus, the name for The Hiding Place was inspired by Psalm 32:7, “You [God] are my Hiding Place.” We desire a retreat home that personifies the love, safety, and shelter that drawing near to Jesus brings.
